2 Gifted Workshops aim to help students with conflict resolution, behavioral management, low engagement, and low morale. After completion of the program , students will be able to:
Develop their natural talents and abilities
Express themselves more creatively and effectively
Improve their self-esteem and confidence
Improve their enthusiasm & school spirit
Student will reach these outcomes
Unit 1: Discovery - Identity
Students will explore
strategies on how to care for their minds, bodies, spirits and draw
connections between who they are and what gifts they have within
Unit Snapshot
In each program unit, students will participate in a blend of experiential learning activities, direct instruction, empowering discussion, and creative synthesis around the themes and ideas explored throughout the unit. Each lesson explores aspects of discovery , development and the uncovering of a healthy and hopeful self-concept among participants
Description of program units
The program offers 6- 8 workshops to 25-30 students. This program is broken into three units. Each unit offers students one 60 minute workshop each week. One cohort of students (maximum 25 students per cohort) will be served.
Unit 1: Discover
Students will explore
strategies on how to care for their minds, bodies, spirits and draw
connections between who they are and what gifts they have within
Unit 2: Development
Unit Objective: Students will explore the process that they go through to enhance their gifts and get a chance to unlock their character traits and begin to use them in their everyday lives.
Unit 3: Uncovering
Unit Objective: Students will learn how to use their gifts through song writing and creative expression.
2 Gifted Wrap Up
Students will create a song and music video that will help cultivate confidence and remind them of the power they have within.
